Basic Stripe Overlays

It is a glorious Monday! And for me to say that, it’s got to be a beautiful day!

I am supposed to be on vacation in Germany right now, but our flight of last Friday was canceled due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland. We had a few days to anticipate that is what would happen, so when we were actually told the flight was canceled, we were’t surprised. Still, very disappointing! Oh, well, next year, right?

So I’ve taken this “free” time to make up a few fun things!

Today I have some Basic Stripe Overlays for you!

If you have never played around with Overlays, you don’t know what you’re missing!

You can change the look of the overlay by applying various blending options, by lowering the opacity, and/or by combining the overlay with other overlays, textures, or papers. One overlay can give your paper limitless looks!

You can find my Basic Stripe Overlays in one of my stores:

You can pick up a freebie Sample HERE:

Have fun!

A New Day

Greetings!  And a Happy New Year to us all!  The first day of this new year started out great!  Our 6 year old granddaughter and 8 year old grandson spent the night with us, so we woke up to see their smiling faces this morning.  Of course, they were delighted because at our house, they get to choose all their meals.  And on "holidays" (like today!) all rules go out the window.  So today their breakfast consisted of, by their choice, ice cream, potato chips, orange danish, and bacon.  When I said I needed to take a photo to show Mommy, little Emily (age 6) said, "Oh, Mommy is NOT going to like this!"  =)    (Well, she didn't know that Mommy had already given her approval.  I'm not a totally "bad" Grandma.  I had asked Mom's permission prior to the visit!).  Anyway, I hope your day is peaceful, fun, and relaxing - just the way to start out a new year!

I will be leaving Gotta Pixel store on January 7th, and joining the design team of Scrap Professor on the 8th.  I am very excited about this change and all the possibilities of 2010.  So today I designed a special piece of word art for you.  I do believe in my dreams, and I hope you believe in yours!   And after you download the file unzip it right away!  There is some special coupon information in there for you... Okay, why should you wait... I'll tell you here.  My store at Gotta Pixel is on sale for 50% off until January 7th.  And if you go to my new website at and sign up as a newsletter subscriber, you will receive, as my gift to you, a free Snickerdoodle Cookie Alpha, as well as an additional 10% off coupon to use - so you can pick up anything in my Gotta Pixel store for 60% off!  Yahoo!  Now THAT'S the way to start off the new year!

Thank you for taking the time to read all of my information!  You can download your freebie HERE and visit my Gotta Pixel store HERE.

Cookie Favorites!

Did everyone have a nice Christmas?  We had the greatest Christmas Eve service at our church, followed by a fun time with our family at a local restaurant. Then we spent Christmas day at our daughter's house and had so much fun watching our 6 year old and 8 year old grandchildren opening their gifts! Don't you just love the spirit and excitement of children?  And now all that is left for us to do in this year is finish eating all the goodies given to us by friends, family, and neighbors.  How about you?  Are you staring at a pile of cookies wondering just how many calories you are willing to spend on them?  I know I am!  But I have some no-calorie cookies for you today (the very best kind!).  I will be putting a package of cookies in the store tomorrow.  This package contains 5 complete alpha sets including uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols for each type of cookie.  What are your favorites?  My package includes: Snickerdoodles, Chocolate Chip, Sprinkles, Sugar Sprinkles, and M and M cookies.  You can pick up the uppercase for the Snickerdoodle cookies HERE.  If you want the complete set of Snickerdoodles, just go to my new blog at and sign up to receive my newsletter.  The site will become active January 1, 2010, although if you sign up now, you will receive the cookie set free.  Be sure to read the insert in the zip file in case the newsletter goes out before you sign up.  I am including for you a preview of the full alpha set, which you can check out in more detail HERE (at GottaPixel).  Thanks for looking!  Have a wonderful New Year! We have so much to be thankful for and so much to look forwad to.  =)

Let it Snow

Good evening!  I've been under the weather the past week, but hopefully am on the upswing now.  These winter colds just seem to like to hang around!  My husband was in Arizona last week and was talking about how lovely the snow was.  Living in Southern California we only have to drive an hour or so to be in the mountains, but it's been several years since we've been up in the snow.  Thinking about that inspired me to create this little frame, which I hope you will enjoy picking up.  You have find it HERE.  While you're in the mood for snow and Christmas things, you might want to check out Gotta Pixel's $1 Tuesday sale tomorrow.  I will have 3 new alphas there.  HERE is a link to the store, and I am including the previews for you to take a peek at.

Winter Frost

Hello!  While I don't have Winter Frost in my front yard, I do currently have rain.  It is cold, windy, and rainy - just the sort of day to stay inside. I might have actually enjoyed being in all day if I wasn't fighting a cold.  Well, actually the cold won, and I'm just trying to recooperate from the fight.  =)  I did play around a bit today and finished my word art, which coordinates with Katie's new kit Winter Frost.  I love the colors and the bling in the kit, so it was sooooo much fun to work with.  Today I designed some Christmas bulbs, which you will not find in the word art OR the kit.  You can pick them up HERE. Please check out Katie's new kit HERE, and go HERE to peek at my coordinating word art.  I hope you are pleased!
